The Open Day at Finca La Rinconada (Calamonte, Badajoz), on April 11, began with an environmental education action in which the students of C.E.I.P San José Calamonte participated. It included a practical activity about the theme "Valorize the Montado" in which the children collected rosemary, a wild aromatic plant with high potential in the essential oils industry, for later use in the demonstration of distillation.

     

n the afternoon, under the motto "Potentialities of the montados for the harvest and cultivation of aromatic and medicinal plants", the rosemary was harvested in the morning to obtain hydrolat and essential oils, accompanied by a discussion of the potentialities and constraints associated with this activity. Finally, the technique of ADPM Maria Bastidas presented the project to the participants.
