The inauguration of the Sines pilot area took place on July 9, and was marked with a demonstration of new stripping technologies. Prior to this demonstration by Rámon Santiago on behalf of the Centre for Scientific and Technological Research of Extremadura (CICYTEX), the fundamentals of sustainable stripping by Nuno Ribeiro (from the University of Évora) were presented, as well as the cork quality sampling by Conceição Santos Silva of the Union of Mediterranean Forest (UNAC).
