The inauguration of the Dehesa el Guijo took place on April 3. The program began with the visit of the CEIP school "Fray Alonso Fernández" who participated actively in the game of the montado. Subsequently, the children installed a nest box on the ground, thus contributing to one of the management measures, controlling insects to maintain balance in the montado. Finally, they visited the barrier and met the aquatic sewage species installed within the sequence of the project.

     

During the afternoon interventions for the adult public, the actions to adapt to climate change in this pilot area were explained, such as densification on the montado using cactus protectors, improvement of pastures with biodiverse mixtures, planting of aromatic plants and feed banks, and construction of shelters for birds, bats and insects.
